Jackie Milad is a Baltimore-born artist working in mixed-media abstraction and collage. Her practice blends painting with layered found materials, weaving together cultural icons and multilingual text to address her own multicultural background. Milad constructs her compositions through careful accumulation—building dense, vibrant surfaces that collapse distinct cultural references into unified visual statements.
Driven by questions of dispersed identity, Milad uses color saturation and material density to assert her personal story within broader collective histories. Her method centers on visual documentation, treating her work as a record of lived experience across multiple cultural contexts. Her practice has been recognized nationally and internationally, with exhibitions at The Walters Art Museum and The Baltimore Museum of Art. She is a recipient of the Creative Capital Grant and the Robert W. Deutsch Foundation's Alumni Rubys Artist Grant, with work held in various public collections.
