The Dufala Brothers create sculptural and drawing-based work that balances profane wit with serious ecological and social commentary. Their practice employs unconventional materials—industrial chain, copper pipe, coal, ductwork, and collected detritus like belly button lint—transforming them into forms that suggest function while resisting utility. The artists graduate from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and have exhibited widely across the Northeast, including at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Drawing Center in New York, and the John Michael Kohler Arts Center. In 2014, they organized a funeral for a Mantua neighborhood home slated for demolition, collaborating with local leaders through Temple Contemporary.
