Glenn Kaino: Bridge

Glenn Kaino is a Los Angeles-based conceptual artist whose practice centers on collaborative, large-scale installations that engage with historical moments and their ongoing social impact. Working across sculpture, video, and performance, Kaino creates monumental works that bridge personal narratives with collective memory. His practice emphasizes material casting and spatial intervention—notably visible in Bridge (2013-2014), created through sustained collaboration with athlete Tommie Smith. Kaino's work interrogates how artistic intervention can honor and amplify powerful gestures of resistance, transforming individual acts into shared public monuments.
