terms of use
last updated 29 August 2026
These terms apply when you use seeke.art. They are meant to be readable. If something here is unclear, ask us rather than guessing — contact.
Who we are
seeke.art is operated by Seeke Art (“Seeke”, “we”), a sole proprietorship based in New Jersey. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
What Seeke is
Seeke is a directory. We collect information about art exhibitions from the websites of galleries, museums, and other venues, organise it, and publish it so that people can find shows worth seeing. We are not the organiser of any exhibition, we do not sell tickets or artwork, and we are not an agent of any venue or artist.
Accuracy
Listings are compiled from public sources and reviewed by a person before they are published, but they can still be wrong or out of date. Dates change, shows close early, and opening hours are not always published accurately by the venue. Always confirm with the venue before travelling to see an exhibition. We provide listings “as is” and do not warrant that they are complete, accurate, or current.
Using the site
You may read, search, link to, and share anything on the public site. You may not:
- scrape, bulk-download, or systematically copy the listings database;
- use the site to build a competing directory;
- upload anything you do not have the rights to;
- upload malicious files, or try to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the site;
- misrepresent yourself as another artist, venue, or person.
Artist Accounts
An Artist Account is for the artist it belongs to. You are responsible for the accuracy of your profile and for having the rights to everything you upload. You keep ownership of your statement, your portfolio, and your work — uploading it gives us permission to store it and use it to match you to opportunities, and nothing more. We do not publish your portfolio, license it, sell it, or use it to train models.
You can close your account at any time, and we will delete your profile and portfolio files. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.
Exhibition content and images
Listings describe factual matters — who is showing, where, and when. Exhibition images are reproduced from the venue’s own public pages to identify the show they belong to, and remain the property of their creators and rights holders.
If you are an artist, venue, photographer, or other rights holder and you want an image or listing corrected or taken down, tell us and we will act — see contact for the process and the response time we hold ourselves to. You do not need to send a formal legal notice to get a response.
Our own content
The Seeke name, design, written summaries, and the organisation of the database are ours. You may quote and link to us with attribution; you may not republish the database or present our material as your own.
Links to other sites
We link to venue websites, exhibition pages, and mapping services. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their accuracy, or their privacy practices.
Availability
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the site at any time. We try to keep it available but do not promise uninterrupted service.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Seeke is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for wasted journeys, missed exhibitions, or decisions made in reliance on a listing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to these terms
We will update the date above when these terms change, and will note significant changes on the site before they take effect. Continuing to use Seeke after that means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, and disputes will be handled in the courts of New Jersey.
