Djerassi Resident Artists Program 2027 Season
the opportunity
Djerassi awards one-month residencies on its 583-acre ranch in the Santa Cruz Mountains to about 40–45 artists a year, at no cost to the resident. The 2027 season runs in five cohorts: February 16–March 16, March 30–April 27, June 22–July 27 (Leonardo@Djerassi, for artists and scientists), August 17–September 14, and October 19–November 16. Applicants choose one category — visual arts (painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, mixed media, installation), media arts and new genres, literature, music composition, choreography, or Leonardo@Djerassi — and are judged by panels of arts professionals in that field. Residents receive living and studio space and are expected to stay for the full session. Applications go through SlideRoom; an application webinar is scheduled for September 23.
eligibility
National and international emerging, mid-career, and established artists in the listed disciplines; degree-seeking students are now eligible. All materials must be in English. One category per application cycle.
