18th Annual Drawing Discourse: International Juried Exhibition of Contemporary Drawing
UNC Asheville Department of Art and Art History
You should apply if you're an artist 18 or older, anywhere, working in traditional or experimental drawing, including 3D, video or installation.

About
UNC Asheville's Department of Art and Art History runs Drawing Discourse, a juried international exhibition looking at drawing as artists practice and define it now, in traditional or experimental media, including 2D and 3D work, video and installation. Accepted work hangs in the S. Tucker Cooke Gallery in Owen Hall from January 15 to February 12, 2027, opening with a lecture by juror Michael Grimaldi. The juror awards $2,000 in cash prizes, plus a purchase prize for the department's collection, and each exhibited artist receives a copy of the printed catalogue. Entries go through CaFÉ; the university keeps a 30% commission on sales.
Eligibility
Open to all artists 18 and older, worldwide. Work must be original and never previously exhibited at UNC Asheville, and must fit through a 67 x 117 inch doorway and weigh under 120 lbs. International award winners are subject to 30% federal withholding.
