Fellowship · Provincetown, MA
2027-2028 Visual Arts Fellowship
Fine Arts Work Center
You should apply if you're an emerging visual artist, with or without an MFA, ready to live in Provincetown for seven months.

About
The Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown offers seven-month residencies, October 1 through April 30, to a juried group of emerging visual artists, fiction writers and poets. Each Visual Arts Fellow receives an apartment, a studio, a monthly stipend of $1,250 and a $1,000 exit stipend, plus a solo exhibition opportunity in the Hudson D. Walker Gallery and studio visits from visiting artists. Applicants submit up to 10 images or five minutes of video made in the last four years through SlideRoom; a committee reviews work in two rounds. Fellows must stay in residence with limited absences.
Eligibility
Emerging visual artists; an MFA is not required. FAWC disqualifies applicants who have had high-profile museum exhibitions or biennials, hold tenure-track professorships, or have received awards specifically for mid-career artists. Collaborative teams may apply together (one Fellowship awarded). Fellows must live in Provincetown for the residency with no more than 14 consecutive or 30 total days away.
Applications happen on Fine Arts Work Center's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
