About
Communication Arts' annual Photography Competition, run for 68 years, is judged by an international jury of creative directors and photographers. Winning work is published in the Communication Arts Photography Annual in print and digital editions and on commarts.com, with an index giving each photographer's contact details to art directors, designers and buyers. Winners receive a personalized aluminum Award of Excellence and certificates; there is no cash prize. Categories cover advertising, books, editorial, for-sale work, institutional, motion and cinematography, self-promotion, unpublished personal work and student assignments, with single images or series of up to five. Entrants submit online with an English description of each piece.
Eligibility
Any photograph first published or produced from March 2026 through March 2027 is eligible, from any country; unpublished personal work and student assignments have their own categories. AI text-to-image generated work is not accepted.
Applications happen on Communication Arts's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
