About
The AIM Fellowship, founded in 1980 as Artist in the Marketplace, is the Bronx Museum's career program for New York City artists. Fourteen artists are chosen through an open call for a nine-month practicum that meets one evening a week at the Museum, with a spring session, a summer break and a fall session. Faculty cover the art market, artist statements, financial literacy, legal issues, funding, curator relationships, documentation, studio visits and portfolio reviews. Applicants submit six artworks through the online application, and a panel of experts reviews every complete application to select the next cohort.
Eligibility
NYC residents at the time of applying and throughout the program, 21 or older, applying individually (no collectives), with 2–10 years of making and presenting visual art and not yet widely recognized. Applicants cannot be represented by a commercial gallery, enrolled in a degree or professional-development program, or connected to Bronx Museum staff or board. U.S. citizens or permanent residents only.
