In Contrast 2026
the opportunity
Maryland Federation of Art's blind-juried virtual exhibition on contrast as a force in art, from chiaroscuro and complementary color to the interplay of texture and form, shown in MFA's Virtual Gallery December 15, 2026 through February 14, 2027. Juror Sena Clara Creston, interactive installation artist and Associate Professor of Media Arts at Sonoma State University, selects the work and designates awards totaling $500. Any original 2D or 3D work made within the past three years and following MFA's guidelines is eligible; up to six works may be entered through ArtCall.org, where each work is one paid application with up to two images. Work previously shown in MFA's Virtual Gallery cannot be re-entered, and MFA does not accept work made with image-generative AI.
eligibility
Open to artists worldwide except those in sanctioned countries (the terms of entry also name the United States, Canada, and Mexico). Original work only, created by the artist's own hand within the past three years; no reproductions or generative-AI work.
fees
$45 for 1 or 2 entries (MFA members $30); up to 4 additional entries $6.75 each (members $4.50), non-refundable
