North Omaha Trail & Chambers Court Call for Artists

deadline

the opportunity

Amplify Arts, Spark, and Hoppe Development are commissioning 13 new public artworks along the North Omaha Trail, a community-led trail whose first phase runs nearly two miles from North 31st and Sprague to North 24th and Ohio, and at Chambers Court, a historic apartment complex named for state senator and civil rights leader Ernie Chambers. The call is for work rooted in North Omaha's history, culture, resilience, and future, in any discipline: murals, mosaics, sculpture and metalwork, photography and digital media, sound and interactive work, poetry and storytelling. Selected artists are paid and matched to a site, then develop a concept with the project team and community input within an established budget. Applications go through Submittable; applicant notifications go out December 14–18, with final selections no later than February 5, 2027. Office hours for feedback on statements and work samples ran through September.
