Call for Portable Artworks 2026
the opportunity
The City of Bellevue is buying two- and three-dimensional portable artworks for its public art collection, which it adds to every two years. The maximum purchase price is $12,000 per artist. Purchased work will be placed in city-owned, publicly accessible buildings. The City wants small sculpture under 70 pounds, unframed 2D work (drawing, mixed media, painting, photography, prints and textiles) and electronic art. Artists submit a bio of up to 150 words and up to five images of available work, with title, year, medium, dimensions, weight and price. Galleries may apply for up to three represented artists. Applications close at 11:59pm PDT, and artists hear back by November 13, 2026.
eligibility
Living professional visual artists residing in Island, King, Kitsap, Kittitas, Chelan, Pierce, San Juan, Skagit or Snohomish County, Washington. Bellevue residents get additional consideration. Work showing violence, profanity or nudity is not considered.
