Iowans Create Community Mural Program RFQ
the opportunity
The Iowa Economic Development Authority is selecting one Iowa artist or team to design and paint an original, site-specific mural with a community that will be chosen from a finalist pool. The total budget is $25,000 and covers all project costs. The selected artist works with the community to plan and create the mural by June 30, 2027. Applicants submit a statement of interest, a resume or CV, five to ten images of relevant past work, and two professional references. Finalists are notified in November, and the community chooses its artist in December 2026.

Full-time Iowa residents, individually or as teams. Selection is based on artistic excellence and on professional experience adequate to the demands of the project.
