About
Jentel Artist Residency sits 20 miles southeast of Sheridan, Wyoming, in the foothills of the Bighorn Mountains. This application covers the Summer/Fall 2027 sessions, May 15 to December 7. Each resident gets a private bedroom, shared living area and kitchen, a separate studio, and a $300 stipend paid weekly. Residencies are self-directed; there are no charges to attend beyond the application fee and a $100 reservation deposit due after an award. Panels of visual art, literary and music professionals select residents on artistic merit and promise. Applications go through Submittable.
Eligibility
Visual artists in any medium, writers and composers, emerging or established, who are at least 25 and are U.S. citizens or reside in the U.S. during the residency year. Full-time degree students are not eligible; post-doc fellows are. Wyoming residents have a streamlined application.
