MADE IN THE BAY Art + Design Youth Open Call
Root Division
You should apply if you're a high school student in one of the nine Bay Area counties making visual art or design.
About
Root Division is collecting work by Bay Area high school students for MADE IN THE BAY, a youth exhibition in its Main Gallery in San Francisco from January 9 to February 20, 2027, opening with a reception on January 9. There is no theme, and painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, sculpture, mixed media, textiles, fashion, illustration, graphic design and digital work are all welcome. Students may submit up to two works, individual or collaborative, through an online form; no previous exhibition experience is needed. A youth jury of student jurors from Lick-Wilmerding High School makes the selection, with notifications in the first week of December. Work can be offered for sale, with 60% of each sale going to the artist.
Eligibility
Students currently enrolled in a high school in one of the nine Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano or Sonoma. Up to two artworks per applicant; individual and collaborative works accepted.
Applications happen on Root Division's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
