SCG Artist in Residence & Teaching Program 2027 (National)
Blue Line Arts
You should apply if you're an established U.S. artist outside the Sacramento region who can teach adult workshops, in any medium.
About
The Susan Cooley Gilliom Artist in Residence & Teaching Program, managed by Placer Community Foundation and hosted by Blue Line Arts, brings an established artist to Placer County for three weeks, August 13 to September 3, 2027. The resident gets a studio in Blue Line's Broad Education Gallery, a $10,000 honorarium, a $1,470 per diem, and reimbursement budgets for travel, car rental, housing and supplies. In return the artist gives a public lecture, keeps open studio hours, hosts school tours and teaches two adult workshops. Applicants send a cover letter, two workshop proposals, CV, statement and 5–10 images; results come February 5, 2027.
Eligibility
Open to U.S. artists 18 and older in any medium, except residents of Placer, Nevada, Yolo, El Dorado, Sacramento and Sutter-Yuba counties (who apply to the regional residency instead). Past SCG residents are not eligible. The program expects experience teaching adult workshops and giving artist lectures.
Applications happen on Blue Line Arts's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
