About
The Adirondack Experience, the museum on Blue Mountain Lake in New York, offers four one-month residencies in June, July, August and September 2027. Residents make their own work in the museum's public areas at least three days a week, drawing on the surrounding landscape and the collection, and spend Fridays and Saturdays in the Art Lab makerspace leading drop-in activities for visitors. Each artist receives a $5,000 stipend, a $500 travel allowance, free on-site housing and round-the-clock access to the grounds and trails. Applicants email a proposal with a portfolio of 8 to 15 works. Selected artists are notified by February 20, 2027.
Eligibility
Artists whose portfolio includes at least five works that have been exhibited publicly (museums, public, university or private galleries) or sold to private collectors; sales through Etsy and similar craft sites do not count.
