2027 Artist Residencies at Gladstone House
Gladstone House
You should apply if you're a Toronto-area visual artist or craftsperson, 19 or older, without a studio outside your home.

About
Gladstone House, Toronto's oldest operating hotel, offers free three-month visual art and craft residencies in its Art Studio, a 480 square foot room on the hotel's studio level shared by three resident artists. Residencies run in blocks from January 4 through the end of 2027, and artists work on self-directed projects, from exhibition preparation to portfolio development. Each artist gets an L-shaped work area with two tables and a task chair, studio access from 7am to 11pm daily, and WiFi. In return, residents work in the studio at least two full or four half days a week with the door open to hotel guests, and contribute to the hotel's arts programming through an exhibition, workshop or similar activity. Selected artists are notified in early December 2026.
Eligibility
Professional artists at any career stage, 19 or older, who are local or regional to Toronto, have no studio space outside their home, have not been Gladstone House residents before, and have no conflicting residencies scheduled.
Applications happen on Gladstone House's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
