2027 Beam Camp Project Open Call
Beam Center
You should apply if you design ambitious, buildable large-scale projects, from anywhere, alone or as a team.
About
Beam Center is looking for a proposal for one ambitious, large-scale public artwork to be built at Beam Camp, its summer camp for building and collaboration in Strafford, New Hampshire, by more than 100 campers aged 9 to 17 and 20-plus staff. The selected proposer receives a $5,000 award, and the project has a fabrication budget of about $15,000, with wood and metal shops, welding, textiles, ceramics, casting and a tech lab on site. The designer meets with Beam's project team every two weeks for six months before completion in summer 2027 and is invited to camp, with travel reimbursed. Submit a single PDF with the concept, visuals and team details.
Eligibility
Open to individuals and teams anywhere in the world and of any age, including artists, engineers, architects, builders, designers, musicians and technologists. Proposers should understand the processes and materials their project needs and be available for regular development meetings.
Applications happen on Beam Center's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
