2027 Artists in Queens Grant
the opportunity
Flushing Town Hall's regrant for individual Queens artists, funded by the New York State Council on the Arts Statewide Community Regrants program, gives $5,000 per artist for the creation of new work in a community setting, presented in Queens. Projects must include a community engagement component, either a public program such as an exhibition or performance or community involvement in the creative process itself; proposals that bring the community into the development of the work are more competitive. Applications are scored by a peer panel of artists, cultural workers, and community leaders, with awards announced in March 2027. First-time applicants must attend or watch an information session (sessions run September 28 through October 27, including Spanish and Mandarin-interpreted sessions), and FTH offers Zoom office hours, a drop-in working session, and one-on-one draft reviews before the deadline. Unincorporated Queens artist groups may apply through a Queens-based lead artist.
eligibility
Individual artists who are current Queens residents with valid proof of residency dated within the last two years, at least 18 years old at application. Queens-based unincorporated artist groups and collectives may apply with a Queens-based artist as the lead. Projects must be new work with a public component in Queens.
