About
Lower Manhattan Cultural Council's Creative Engagement program funds artists and nonprofit organizations for public arts events in Manhattan between January and December 2027 — exhibitions, public art, performances, screenings, festivals, readings and more. Grants run from $1,000 to $20,000 and LMCC aims to fully fund as many projects as it can. Projects must be finished works presented to the public in Manhattan, guarantee a fee for participating professional artists, and have at least one artist confirmed as a creative leader. Applications opened in Submittable on September 8, 2026; an information session is scheduled for September 28, with in-person applicant labs through October and virtual office hours before the deadline. Results are notified April 5, 2027.
Eligibility
Manhattan-based individual artists, collectives, and nonprofit organizations that cannot apply directly to DCLA or NYSCA — in general earlier-career artists and smaller organizations. Grant recipients must show proof of Manhattan residence or address. Projects focused on arts education, training, or social services rather than public presentation are ineligible.
