About
The Harrison Center's annual color-theme group exhibition, presented by the Katharine B. Sutphin Foundation, fills the Harrison Gallery and Gallery Annex in Indianapolis through December 2026 with work interpreting the color red, from Matisse's Harmony in Red to the hue's symbolism of luck and celebration. Judges award cash prizes announced at 7pm on the December 4 First Friday opening: $5,000 for the top prize, $3,500 for first place, $2,500 second, $200 third, and $300 honorable mentions. Artists submit one finished work as a JPEG through Eventeny; AI-generated or assisted work must be declared, and the center has final say on content for its all-ages event spaces. Selected artists are notified by November 13 and deliver work wired and ready to hang by November 30. All work must be for sale, with a 30% commission.
Eligibility
Open to artists of all skill levels and backgrounds working in any medium; one piece per submission (no diptychs or triptychs unless framed together). Artists supply projection equipment for video and install pieces that are not easily hung, and must deliver work to the Harrison Center in Indianapolis.
