Archie Bray Foundation 2027 Artist Residencies
the opportunity
The Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts takes one application for all of its 2027 residencies. Long-term residents receive a one-year residency beginning in August or September with a $7,500 fellowship and the option to apply for a second year; summer residents work at the Bray for up to 90–100 days between June 1 and mid-September with $1,500 fellowships. The Bray looks for a mix of ceramic artists making functional, sculptural, conceptual, or other work, and residents exhibit through its galleries and earn commissions on sales. The application, submitted through SlideRoom, asks for residency preferences, a CV, a brief statement, a letter of intent, three references, and twenty images of recent work. 2027 is the Bray's 75th anniversary year and residents are asked to volunteer at receptions.
eligibility
Ceramic artists of any career stage. Accepted artists must hold a visa and US Social Security Number that allow them to be paid; tourist and B visas are not acceptable.
