About
Sculpture Walk Across Nebraska (SWAN) places outdoor sculptures on loan in public spaces across eight communities: Columbus, Cozad, Fremont, Grand Island, Norfolk, North Platte, Ogallala, and Valentine. Selected sculptors receive a $1,000 stipend per selected sculpture on delivery, usable for materials, travel, or lodging, and residents and visitors vote a $500 People's Choice Award in each community. Work is promoted through brochures and maps, plaques listing the artist and the sale price, community events, and digital marketing; sculptures sell with a 25% commission. Artists may enter up to six existing works, in photo, illustration, or scale-model form, and choose which communities to enter. Selections are announced November 26, 2026, installation runs May 4–10, 2027, and sculptures stay up until removal or relocation at the end of April 2028. Eligibility
Professional and emerging sculptors. Each sculpture must be original, for sale, and suitable for outdoor display for at least one year; Fremont entries require proof of insurance.
