Artist Catalyst Grants (Cycle 1)
Virginia Commission for the Arts
You should apply if you're a practicing artist living in Virginia, 18 or older, and not a full-time student.
About
The Virginia Commission for the Arts awards one-time Artist Catalyst Grants of up to $500 to help a Virginia artist reach a new point in their practice: attending a masterclass or conference, building a portfolio or website, a short apprenticeship or residency, shipping or facility costs, or equipment integral to an opportunity. Cycle 1 accepts applications October 1 to November 1, 2026 for activities between November 15, 2026 and June 15, 2027. Awards are made first-come, first-served until the cycle's funds run out, and applications must arrive at least two weeks before the activity.
Eligibility
Practicing artists who are legal residents of Virginia, 18 or older when the activity begins, and who will remain Virginia residents through the grant period. Full-time students and VCA Roster Artists are ineligible. Activities must take place in the U.S.; virtual programming, rent, travel and meals are not funded.
Applications happen on Virginia Commission for the Arts's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
