Baker Artist Awards 2027
Baker Artist Awards (Creative Alliance)
You should apply if you're a Baltimore-area artist with a strong body of work who wants a shot at a $10,000 to $40,000 prize.
About
The Creative Alliance's Baker Artist Awards recognize Baltimore-region artists for mastery of craft, depth of artistic exploration and unique vision. In 2027, one artist in each of six disciplines receives the $10,000 Mary Sawyers Baker Prize: visual arts 2D, visual arts 3D, film and photography, interdisciplinary art, literary arts and performing arts. One of those six also receives the $30,000 Mary Sawyers Imboden Prize, for a total of $40,000. Visual and interdisciplinary awardees are invited to a biennial exhibition at the Baltimore Museum of Art. Any artist with an active portfolio on the Baker Artist Portfolio site by January 29, 2027 at 5 p.m. is considered.
Eligibility
Artists and collectives aged 21 or older who have been legal residents of the Baltimore region since September 20, 2024: Anne Arundel, Baltimore City, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard counties. Past awardees who received $20,000 or less may be eligible again after a waiting cycle.
