Blubb — International Comic Competition 2027
Fumetto Comic Festival Luzern
You should apply if you make comics, analog or digital — the competition is open to people anywhere, with categories for adults, teens and children.
About
Fumetto, the comic festival in Lucerne, Switzerland, runs a long-standing international comics competition, and the 2027 theme is "Blubb". Entrants upload one comic of up to four pages, analog or digital, in A4 or A3 format, through the competition site from November 1, 2026. Fumetto picks a shortlist of 45, shown as originals at the Gletschergarten Luzern during the festival, March 6–14, 2027. Entrants post the originals and pay shipping. A jury awards three prizes per age category. In the adult category they are CHF 1,111, CHF 888 and CHF 666, plus a CHF 444 prize for the strongest scenario, plus a public vote prize. AI use is not allowed.
Eligibility
Open to anyone, anywhere, in three age categories: 18 and over, 13 to 17, and 12 and under (age as of December 1, 2026). One entry per person; school classes may also take part. Comics only (multi-panel stories), no AI.
Applications happen on Fumetto Comic Festival Luzern's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
