CreArt Artists Residency in Aveiro 2026
CreArt network of cities for creativity
You should apply if you're a visual artist born in or living in a CreArt network city, an HDLU member, or a Ukrainian artist.
About
The City of Aveiro, through the EU-funded CreArt 3.0 network, is inviting two visual artists to a 19-day residency from November 23 to December 11, 2026, as part of its Boas Festas holiday cultural programme. Residents make interventions or ephemeral works for Aveiro's historic centre and public spaces, developed with the city's curators and the local community, with a focus on public space, light and sound installation and performance. Each artist receives a €2,500 grant toward travel, subsistence and other costs, plus a studio and accommodation in the city centre, and the city can supply sound and light equipment. Applicants register on the CreArt website and upload one PDF with ID, proof of a network-city connection, a one-page CV, a portfolio and a one-page proposal. Results are announced November 11.
Eligibility
Artists born in or living in a CreArt network city (Kaunas, Liepāja, Skopje, Aveiro, Valladolid, Venice, Clermont-Ferrand, Rouen, Regensburg, České Budějovice or Oulu), members of HDLU (Croatian Association of Visual Artists), or Ukrainian artists through Lviv Artistic Council Dialog. No age limit. A European Health Insurance Card or equivalent is required.
