About
The Asian/Pacific/American Institute at NYU, with NYU Special Collections and Asia Art Archive, is funding the first research fellowships on the sculptor Ming Fay (1943–2025), co-founder of the Epoxy Art Group. Fellows work in the Ming Fay Papers at NYU, related Asia Art Archive holdings and the Ming Fay Studio archive between January 4 and December 10, 2027. The Senior Research Fellowship grants up to $7,500 for work headed toward publication or an exhibition; the Exploratory Research Fellowship grants up to $2,500 for a shorter project such as an essay, film or exhibition proposal. Funds can cover travel to New York, housing, translation and research costs, and are paid in one installment in February 2027. Awards are announced December 15, 2026, and final projects are due January 31, 2028.
Eligibility
Senior track: professors, established independent scholars, curators, postdoctoral researchers and advanced PhD candidates. Exploratory track: master's students, early PhD students, emerging scholars, artists and curators. Non-U.S. applicants may apply, but NYU does not help with housing or visas.
