Don Bachardy Fellowship 2027
Royal Drawing School
You should apply if you're an MA-trained artist from outside the UK whose practice is built on observational drawing.
About
The Royal Drawing School's Don Bachardy Fellowship, sponsored by the Christopher Isherwood Foundation, brings one postgraduate artist from outside the UK to study at its Shoreditch campus for the summer term, April to July 2027. The fellow spends three full days a week for ten weeks drawing alongside students on The Drawing Year, picks from more than 60 courses including life drawing, museum drawing and intaglio printmaking, has a postgraduate studio, and can attend the school's lecture series. A $7,500 stipend toward travel and accommodation is paid half on award and half on arrival. Applicants should show observational drawing in their practice and apply through the school's online form.
Eligibility
International artists who have studied at MA level. Artists from the UK, or who have studied and lived in the UK, are not eligible, nor is anyone who has studied at the Royal Drawing School before.
Applications happen on Royal Drawing School's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
