About
Down the Lane Studios and Culture Focus offer one artist a fully supported month-long residency in Melbourne in March 2027. It covers return airfare, accommodation, a private studio of about six by six metres with a separate workshop area, and an A$500 production budget, plus a visa support letter, introductions to the local arts community and an open studio near the end. The studio is in Collingwood. A panel of Melbourne and international arts professionals reviews each application on the quality of the work, the feasibility of the plan, benefit to the practice and the ability to work independently. Applicants send one PDF of up to ten images, a bio, a two-page CV and a project plan. Notification is by January 20, 2027.
Eligibility
Practising artists worldwide, at any career stage and in any medium, who can be present in the studio for the full month in March 2027 and apply in English. Writers, playwrights and directors are welcome.
