About
Open Field is the Milford Arts Council's first exhibition dedicated entirely to abstract work, and it is about scale: every piece must be at least 24 inches on a side, with size an active part of the composition. Gestural, geometric, process-based, poured, drawn, printed or stitched approaches are all welcome. Artists may submit up to three 2D works; selection is juried for overall fit and impact, by a judge to be announced. Notifications go out December 22–23, and the show runs January 15 to March 5, 2027 at MAC Downtown Gallery, opening January 14.
Eligibility
Open to any artist 18 or older. Abstract two-dimensional work only — painting, drawing, printmaking, pastel, mixed media, collage, photography or fiber — at least 24 inches on any side and under 20 lbs, made within the past three years and not previously shown at MAC. No 3D, video, AI-generated work or giclées.
