Downtown Library Atrium Window Commission, Boca Raton
Public Art Boca
You should apply if you're an experienced public or site-specific artist who can turn community memoirs into a large window installation.
About
Public Art Boca seeks qualifications for a temporary artwork on the interior atrium windows of the Downtown Boca Raton Public Library. The commission pays $55,000, all-inclusive, and up to three finalists each receive a $2,500 honorarium. The piece should respond to Living Anthologies, a memoir program for residents 55 and older, run with the Boca Raton Museum of Art and mentors from Florida Atlantic University's creative writing MFA program. Installation is planned for August 2027, with the work on view for up to two years. Applicants send a letter of interest and artist statement of 500 words or less, a resume, work samples and two references. Qualifications only; no design is required.
Eligibility
Open to professional visual artists and artist-led teams nationwide, working in any medium. Successful applicants typically show experience with site-specific, public or large-scale work.
Applications happen on Public Art Boca's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
