About
UMEZ Arts Engagement, administered by LMCC with the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corporation, funds artists, arts groups, and arts nonprofits for public cultural presentations in Upper Manhattan — north of 98th Street on the east side of Fifth Avenue and north of 110th Street on the west side. Grants range from $1,000 to $20,000 for finished works presented to the public between January 1 and December 31, 2027; each project must guarantee a fee for participating professional artists and name at least one artist as a creative leader. Applications are open in Submittable, with the same applicant labs and office hours as LMCC's other 2027 Manhattan Arts Grants. Notification is April 5, 2027.
Eligibility
Artists, arts groups, and arts nonprofit organizations with proof of residence or address in Upper Manhattan. Previous UMEZ grantees may be funded three consecutive years, then must skip a cycle, and must have submitted outstanding final reports by January 31, 2027.
