About

SU-CASA places artists in residencies at senior centers across New York City; LMCC runs the Manhattan placements. Selected artists receive a $6,000 stipend and a $2,000 materials budget to lead regular, in-person, participatory arts programming for older adults between March and June 30, 2027, ending with a free public program that shares the participants' progress with the surrounding community. Projects can be in any discipline and focus on process over polished results. Applicants propose a project and submit a lesson plan and work samples; a panel reviews applications in November and December. LMCC offers info sessions, in-person labs and office hours before the deadline.

Eligibility

Artists 18 or older with proof of residency or an address in Manhattan, not applying for SU-CASA in another borough in the same cycle. Collectives apply through a lead artist who meets the requirements. Projects must be in person; fully virtual projects are not eligible.

Applications happen on Lower Manhattan Cultural Council's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
