About

The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts Studio Program offers professional visual artists a private, below-market studio in its building on West 39th Street in Midtown Manhattan for up to two years, renewable by reapplying. Studios run 200 to 440 square feet with 11-foot ceilings, 24-hour access, internet, and shared kitchen areas, along with curatorial visits and a community of working artists. A panel of art professionals reviews applications anonymously, judging only images, videos and a short statement. Monthly membership fees are subsidized and depend on studio size and the artist's financial need.

Eligibility

Visual artists in all media with a developed studio practice who are U.S. citizens or legal residents and live within commuting distance of Manhattan. Students in degree programs are not eligible; large or heavy sculpture, some metalwork, and noisy or fire-risk work can’t be accommodated.

Applications happen on EFA Studio Program (Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts)'s website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
