The Abbey Foundation for the Arts in Boonville, California, offers six-month day-use studio residencies. The January 1 to June 30, 2027 term gives an artist use of an 850-square-foot studio plus an 850-square-foot screened area for large-scale work, which may at times be shared with one other artist. A stipend of up to $5,000 covers materials and equipment for the proposed project. The foundation does not provide housing, meals or travel. Applicants submit two referrals, residency goals, 5 to 10 images of their work and a CV through the foundation's online application. Recipients may take part in community workshops and contribute one work made during the residency.
Eligibility
Open to artists across all mediums. Because housing, transportation and meals are not covered, it suits artists living in the local counties or able to relocate for six to twelve months. The recipient contributes one piece created during the residency.
