About
The City of Albuquerque Public Art Program will select up to 20 artists to paint temporary mini-murals on 48 by 72 inch marine-grade plywood panels for the SawMural festival, a public art and creative workforce initiative. Panels are installed along the east side of the Sawmill segment of the Rail Trail, between Bellamah Avenue NW and Mountain Road NW, for a festival in May 2027 and stay on view through August 2027. Each selected artist receives $4,000 for fabrication and installation, and up to three designs may enter the city's permanent collection. Applicants submit a cover letter, resume, up to seven images of past work and an image list; no proposed designs at this stage.
Eligibility
Legal residents of the greater Albuquerque area: Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance and Valencia counties. The call states no age or experience requirement.
