First Plinth: Public Art Award 2027
Royal Society of Sculptors
You should apply if you're a sculptor or 3D artist anywhere who hasn't yet won a public art commission over £20,000.

About
The Royal Society of Sculptors' biennial First Plinth award helps sculptors who have not yet won a public commission break into public art. The 2027 theme is Renewal. Applicants send a CV, up to 10 images of recent work and a 500-word proposal, with up to three supporting images. Five finalists each get £1,000 to make a maquette for a 60 × 60 cm plinth and a full digital proposal with costings, then present to the judging panel at Dora House in London on April 24, 2027, International Sculpture Day. The winner receives £20,000 towards fabricating a large-scale sculpture, with mentoring from engineers, consultants and artists through production.
Eligibility
Artists of any age and nationality working in three dimensions, in any style or media, who are not yet established in public art and have never won a public commission worth more than £20,000.
