Hambidge Summer 2027 Residency
Hambidge Center
You should apply if you’re a serious creative professional in any discipline, from emerging to established, wanting self-directed studio time.
About
The Hambidge Center, the oldest residency program in the Southeast, hosts self-directed residencies on 600 forested acres in the mountains of north Georgia. The summer session runs June through August 2027, and applications are taken December 1 to January 15. Each resident gets a private studio with living space, a bathroom and full kitchen, and groups of 8 to 10 share chef-prepared vegetarian dinners Tuesday through Friday. There are no workshops, critiques or required activities, and no exhibition or publication obligations. Specialized facilities include the Antinori Pottery Studio. About 170 artists in all disciplines are accepted each year, selected mainly on work samples and professional promise.
Eligibility
Creative professionals in any discipline with a serious professional practice (not a hobby), from emerging and mid-career to established; the practice need not be the applicant’s only career.
Applications happen on Hambidge Center's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
