About
The Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation's Individual Support Grant recognizes serious, fully committed painters, sculptors and printmakers who have worked in a mature phase of their art for at least 20 years and who are in current financial need. Twenty grants are awarded each year; last year each recipient received $25,000. Applications for the 2027 cycle open October 15, 2026 and close January 15, 2027 at 11:59pm Eastern. Applicants complete the financial disclosure section in full with supporting documents, and a panel of five arts professionals reviews the work.
Eligibility
Individual painters, sculptors and printmakers who have worked in a mature phase of their art for 20 years or more and can show current financial need. Not open to organizations, students, graphic artists or craft artists; photography, film and video qualify only when they directly involve painting, sculpture or printmaking. Artists who have received the grant three or more times are ineligible.
