About

The National Parks Arts Foundation offers a residency of about a month, October 6–31, 2027, at Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island, home to Kīlauea and Mauna Loa. The resident gets a $4,000 stipend, free housing in a house just outside the park, a studio, an electronic baby grand piano and a sound booth, plus publicity and the option of a public event or workshop at the park. Work may be considered for donation to the park's collection. A rotating panel of arts professionals selects from portfolios; notifications go out November 16, 2026.

Eligibility

Open to national and international artists, writers, musicians and performance artists in any medium, including couples, families, collectives and troupes. Residents cover their own travel, food, equipment and insurance; the stipend is paid after the residency.

Applications happen on National Parks Arts Foundation's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
