Kingsbrae International Residence for the Arts (KIRA)
You should apply if you're an artist in any career stage who wants three weeks in a Canadian garden estate and can fund your own travel.
About
The Kingsbrae International Residence for the Arts welcomes six artists each year to Saint Andrews by-the-Sea, New Brunswick. The 2027 residency runs from May 19 to June 9. Each artist gets a private room and ensuite bathroom in the historic estate, a freestanding 300-square-foot studio, two prepared meals a day six days a week, and access to the 27-acre Kingsbrae Garden. Residents give up to six hours of community engagement a week, such as workshops, talks and open studios. Applications need an artist statement, a two-page CV, answers to two questions, three references and a portfolio. A panel reviews them and finalists join a short Zoom call. The deadline is November 30 at 11:59 p.m.
Eligibility
Artists at all career stages in visual arts, music and composition, writing, new media and interdisciplinary arts. Artists bring their own supplies and cover travel, shipping, materials and any meals not provided.
