About
The Kuala Lumpur International Photoawards' third AUTOPORTRAIT edition is a self-portrait open call run with the FORMAT International Photography Festival, built around FORMAT's 2027 theme, PLAY. Photographers submit from one to ten images online. Prizes are €1,000, €500 and €300, and the top 35 finalists have their portraits projected during FORMAT27 in Derby, UK (March 11 to April 11, 2027) and in Kuala Lumpur. Prizewinners are announced in February 2027. The jury includes Jodi Kwok of QUAD/FORMAT, Enrico Stefanelli of Photolux Festival, Mari Katayama, Sean Cham and D. M. Terblanche.
Eligibility
Open to photographers of all ages and career stages; entries are self-portraits. Full-time enrolled students under 25 may enter one image free in the Students Category with proof of enrolment, judged alongside the main category.
