Museum of Glass 2027 Visiting Artist Residencies
Museum of Glass
You should apply if you're an artist from any medium who wants to explore glassblowing with a professional team.
About
Museum of Glass in Tacoma invites artists to apply for a Visiting Artist Residency in its Hot Shop, working up to five days with the Hot Shop Team and two eight-hour days of basic coldworking. Artists work in full view of museum visitors and may give a public lecture. They keep ownership of what they make, except two donated pieces: one for the museum's collection and one for its annual auction. Artists cover travel, lodging, color and special-order materials. Proposals should be clear and concise with photographs of prototypes or concept sketches, and priority goes to new ideas or techniques. Applications close November 1, 2026.
Eligibility
Artists from all artistic mediums, individually or as a team; open to artists worldwide; past residents are eligible again after three years.
Applications happen on Museum of Glass's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
