NEXT: Botanica 40th Anniversary Exhibition RFP
Botanica Wichita
You should apply if you're an artist 18 or older with a Kansas connection and public art experience at this scale.
About
Botanica, the Wichita botanical garden, is commissioning site-responsive art installations for its 40th anniversary exhibition, NEXT, across its 20 acres of gardens and public spaces. Each artist fee runs $7,500 to $20,000, covering concept, design, materials, fabrication and appearances at opening and closing events. Proposals should connect art, ecology, landscape and place and use the site as an essential part of the work. A committee picks artists by November 30, 2026; fabrication runs March–April 2027, installation in late April, and the exhibition opens May 29, 2027 and closes at the end of September.
Eligibility
Artists 18 or older who live or work in Kansas, were born or raised in Kansas and now live elsewhere, or whose practice has a substantial connection to Kansas; teams qualify if the lead artist does. Any career stage; prior public art experience at a similar scale is a selection criterion.
Applications happen on Botanica Wichita's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
