SAVAGE Emerging Artist Competition 2027
Art Melanated
You should apply if you're an emerging artist of the African diaspora, anywhere in the world, working in painting, drawing, mixed media, textile or sculpture.
About
Art Melanated's SAVAGE Emerging Artist Competition is a global call for emerging artists from the African diaspora, now in its second year, on the 2027 theme Unlimited. An international jury of collectors, curators and museum leaders chooses finalists, who are shown in a SAVAGE exhibition. Winning artists receive cash awards of up to $10,000, and the program includes a one-year mentorship. Applicants submit three to five original works in painting, drawing, mixed media, textile or sculpture that are available for exhibition and sale.
Eligibility
Emerging artists from the African diaspora, aged 18 or over, anywhere in the world, with no major solo museum exhibition and no representation by a major commercial gallery. Submit 3 to 5 original works.
Applications happen on Art Melanated's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
