About

The Kent Cultural Alliance in Chestertown, Maryland invites career artists to a six-week residency from March 14 to April 24, 2027, on the theme of service. Three artists are selected. Each lives and works at the historic Raimond Cultural Center, spends the first week embedded with local community partners, and makes work that amplifies their stories. Each artist also leads a workshop at one of the county public schools and joins artist talks and open studio events. The program pays a $7,500 stipend, reimburses travel up to $1,000 and reimburses studio and gallery expenses up to $1,500. Staff, board members, artists and community partners review applications, and the deadline is 5 p.m. Eastern on December 1.

Eligibility

Career artists from the United States. International artists may apply only with a current visa that lets them work legally in the USA. Current degree candidates are not eligible, and the residency cannot accommodate children, families or pets.

Applications happen on Kent Cultural Alliance's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
