Soaring Gardens Artists' Retreat Summer 2027
Soaring Gardens Artists' Retreat (Ora Lerman Charitable Trust)
You should apply if you're a working visual artist with two years of experience who wants a free three-week summer residency in rural Pennsylvania.
About
Soaring Gardens, a former country home and studio in the hills of northeast Pennsylvania, hosts visual artists, writers, instrumentalists and composers for three-week summer residencies funded by the Ora Lerman Charitable Trust. Residents stay in a communal farmhouse with a studio building next door, or in a more private church, between late April and early November. The application window for summer 2027 runs from November 9 to January 13. Applicants complete a Google Form and email a single PDF portfolio, with six numbered images for visual artists. Need-based grants of $250 or $500 are available, and groups of artists may apply together. Applicants who held a residency in summer 2026 should wait a year.
Eligibility
Actively working visual artists, writers, instrumentalists and composers with at least two years of professional experience. Students may apply with work that is not coursework. Groups and individuals are both welcome.
Applications happen on Soaring Gardens Artists' Retreat (Ora Lerman Charitable Trust)'s website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
