About
NYFA's Queens Arts Fund New Work Grant is a project grant for emerging individual artists and unincorporated artist collectives creating new work — work not previously produced or presented to an audience — in Queens during the 2027 calendar year. Funded projects must include a public component in the borough, and grant funds can cover artist fees, supplies and materials, and equipment or software up to $1,000 per item, but not rent, acquisitions, receptions, or out-of-state travel. Recipients may be awarded 50–100% of their request and must show at least 10% of expenses covered from other sources. Applications open in Submittable September 22, 2026 and close November 17 at 5:00 PM ET; applicants are notified in spring 2027.
Eligibility
Artists 18 or older who live in Queens or hold a full-time studio lease there (no PO boxes), in any discipline. Collectives must be unincorporated and name one Queens-based lead applicant. Full-time degree students, 2026 New Work Grant recipients, and applicants to the 2027 Arts Access Grant or to DCLA funds in another borough are ineligible; one QAF application per year.
